What compensation does not do
It does not buy a ranking. Position in any comparison on this site is determined by our published editorial methodology — all-in cost in CAD, provincial coverage, clinical model and pharmacy model. A provider cannot pay to move up, and paying us does not prevent us from publishing its drawbacks. Every provider page on this site lists cons as well as pros.
It also does not determine who gets listed. We decline to publish a category at all rather than fill it with providers we have not verified.
Why we disclose this prominently
Health content that earns commission on the recommendation carries an obvious conflict of interest. The honest response is to state it plainly, publish the ranking criteria, and let readers weigh our recommendations accordingly — not to bury it in a footer.
What we are not paid to say
We are not compensated for editorial content, guides, or medical explainers. Where a provider's claims conflict with Health Canada's position, we publish Health Canada's position.
