Who we are

ExploreTreatments Canada (exploretreatments.ca) is an independent comparison platform for Canadian telehealth services. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not collect, store, or process medical records.

Our legal basis

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation, including Quebec's Law 25, Alberta's PIPA and British Columbia's PIPA.

What we collect

  • Usage data — pages visited, referring source, approximate region, browser and device type, collected through analytics.
  • Advertising parameters — click identifiers such as gclid, fbclid and utm_* values are stored in your browser's local storage so that if you go on to a provider, the referral is attributed correctly. These live in your browser, not on our servers.
  • Information you send us — if you email us, we retain that message and your address in order to reply.

We do not ask for, and do not want, your health information. Do not send us medical details.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not build health-condition profiles about identifiable individuals, and we do not share information with providers beyond the referral attribution described above.

When you leave for a provider

Clicking through to a telehealth provider takes you to that company's website, governed by its own privacy policy. Anything you submit there — including health information in a medical intake — is handled by that provider, not by us. Read their policy before submitting a medical questionnaire.

Cookies and analytics

We use analytics and advertising measurement tools to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site remains functional without them.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion. Write to privacy@exploretreatments.ca. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes. See also our Terms of Use and Advertising Disclosure.
