Why it matters if you use virtual care
When medication is prescribed by video visit and delivered by mail, no pharmacist is handing you the box. Recall notices typically reach pharmacies and retailers (this one is a retail-depth recall), not necessarily the patient. Checking your own lot number is the reliable route.
What to do
- Read the lot number on the pen or carton.
- If it is 7000636A, do not stop your medication on your own; speak to your pharmacist or prescriber.
- Ask Apotex about the recall, and report side effects to Health Canada.
The same checks apply to any prescription you receive by courier, whatever the treatment.
